The Nordic Spirit line by Nordic Snus AB has recently received a facelift and, not only that, but they have added a new flavor - Elderflower! The line originally launched in July of 2018 with Bergamot Wildberry (now called Berry Citrus) and Mint (now called Smooth Mint). When the product line launched, I spoke with Nordic Snus and they told me “Nordic Spirit tastes longer and provides a fast kick followed by a long-lasting, stable nicotine delivery. The soft and white portion bags also run less and do not color the saliva like traditional snus.”
In regards to the new design, I’ve noticed as of the time I am writing this (9/27/2019) that SnusBolaget only has the new design in the Elderflower, but I imagine they’ll have the new design for the Berry Citrus and Smooth Mint soon. If you’ve had those two before, the new design has the same flavor, but with a much cleaner and more sleek look.
If you’ve completely missed this growing category in the smokeless world, these products are called nicotine pouches. Nordic Snus told me that this is “a brand new all-white alternative with naturally extracted nicotine and refreshing flavors, completely tobacco-free. The clean white slim portions are less runny yet feel soft due to the natural plant fiber and gum-base composition giving fullness to the pouches.”
Nicotine Pouches are products like traditional snus, but they don’t contain tobacco! These are a great alternative for people who may be wanting to quit tobacco, but not quit nicotine. I’ve also noticed a lot of vapers coming over to snus and nicotine pouches, and they seem to be really liking these products; it’s a way they can continue to enjoy nicotine, but without going back to tobacco. While I don’t personally use these products, I’m glad they’re out there for people who want that sort of thing.
The mint flavor in the Nordic Spirit range is called “Smooth Mint”. The flavor description for this one says “The right amount of fresh menthol, along with sweeter peppermint, provides a perfectly balanced mint flavor.” This product come with a 13 gram can containing 20 slim portions, at 0.65 grams each. If you like mint, you’ll find this one to be a mild, but approachable option. The aroma is a gentle pairing of peppermint and menthol. Lightly sweet, but not overdone! The portions, as mentioned before, are a little dryer to the touch than most nicotine pouches, but I still find them to feel comfortable in the lip. There is also a freshness with this one, and a nice cooling presence when you put one under the lip. The flavor is a lightly sweet mixing of menthol and peppermint, with more peppermint than menthol. It’s pretty gentle, and refreshing! The nicotine strength feels to be just a little over the regular mark, but not too terribly strong. I find the flavor lasts a solid 45-50 minutes on average!

When I write reviews on Snubie.com, I usually have to explain things like lingonberry, elderflower, hjortron, and things like that. While these may be common to those in Sweden, many of my American readers don't know what these are. Here, I don't have to do that! The aroma of this one is a mild, lightly sweet, breezy smell of elderflower. It's quite pleasant! The portions themselves are a little dryer than the average nicotine pouch, but I still find them comfortable in the lip. The taste is the nice, lightly sweet, summer flavor of elderflower. It has some mild herbal character to it, and is very well balanced. Though summer is over, this helps me hang on a little longer! The nicotine feels to be just a little stronger than regular strength, and I find I can enjoy the flavor of this one for up to 50 minutes on average!

This one has a really interesting taste. The mixing of citrus and berry comes across quite well. The citrus in the aroma is lightly tart, and reminds me of orange and bergamot. The berry is like a light cranberry mixed with a very faint raspberry. The portions, as noted above, are dryer to the touch than most nicotine pouches, but not uncomfortable by any means! The flavor is a treat - the mixing of citrus and berry comes across really well. The citrus flavor is like a mix of bergamot and orange; it is lightly sweet, but also lightly tart. The berry reminds me of a very mild mix of cranberry and raspberry. I notice more berry in the taste, but I notice more citrus in the aroma. It’s very interesting. The nicotine feels to be just a touch stronger than regular strength, and the flavor lasts around 40-50 minutes on average!
